Paddling with a View on Longs Peak and Rocky Mountains Front Range

Rocky Mountains Longs Peak

Arapaho Bend Natural Area I do not see high peaks of Rocky Mountains from Fort Collins where I live. They are obscured by foothills with Horsetooth Rock. However, you can catch a glimpse of Longs Peak from the Beaver Pond, my regular paddling spot, which is located near I-25. Of course, you can get better views of Longs Peak when paddling on lakes further south (Union, Lonetree or Boedecker Reservoirs).

It was a cloudy and stormy evening with a high wind, but the Beaver Pond offered also some calm and protected waters - a perfect time to take Thunderbolt kayak for a workout.
